Buyer guidelines
How to buy confidently and treat sellers fairly.
Before you buy
- Read the full listing description carefully, including condition notes and fitment details.
- Check the seller's reputation score, review count, and commendations.
- If you're unsure about compatibility, message the seller before purchasing.
- Ask for additional photos if the listing doesn't show what you need to see.
- Confirm shipping cost and estimated timeframe before completing checkout.
Messaging sellers
- Be respectful and specific — sellers are individuals, not warehouses.
- Don't lowball aggressively. A fair offer is fine; harassment is not.
- Keep all communication on Clutchyard. Off-platform transactions have no buyer protections.
- If a seller isn't responding, give them at least 24–48 hours before following up.
After purchase
- If there's a problem with the part, contact the seller first through messages.
- Give the seller a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue before escalating.
- Leave an honest review after your transaction — it helps the whole community.
- Commend sellers who go above and beyond.
Disputes
If you receive a part that is materially different from its listing description and the seller isn't cooperating, contact us at clutchyardteam@gmail.com. Include photos, your order details, and a summary of the issue. We'll help mediate.
For payment disputes, you can also contact your bank or card issuer. Stripe's buyer protections may apply depending on your payment method.
Clutchyard is a peer-to-peer marketplace. We strongly encourage keeping all communication and transactions on-platform — it's the only way both parties are protected.
